As usual, when changing the background colour, we need to change the
foreground as well, otherwise the text risks becoming unreadable with
some default text colour values -- as was the case under GTK+ 3 with its
default theme.
Still use Connect() in unit tests which were written explicitly for it
and in EventConnector, which can't use Bind() as it uses a variable for
the event type.
No real changes, just use the newer and more convenient function.
This undocumented "private" class was used for various windows UxTheme
functions which are available since WinXP. As wxWidgets 3.1 is XP+ it
does not make sense anymore to load the theme functions dynamically.
The underlying Windows TaskDialog supports adding an additional footer
to the message dialog. This makes the native functionality available
and implements it in the generic version.
See https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/573
Add missing header, source and resource files.
Add missing data files (font), remove deleted data files (help).
Fix specifying xrc sample data files.
Remove WXUSINGDLL check from dialogs sample, it is not defined in e.g. static gui build.
Add the possibility to test the generic implementation of the class when
we use the native one by default, this is useful to allow comparing the
behaviour of the two classes.
This method is supposed to adjust the dialog size to its contents and
while the dialog increases automatically when using native
implementation under MSW, it doesn't shrink back on its own and so it's
still useful to allow Fit() to do it.
Update the sample to test Fit() too.
MSW implementation of wxProgressDialog adjusted the dialog size to the
size of the message shown in it on each update, resulting in visually
unpleasant constant jumping around (this is the same problem that we
used to have in wxGenericProgressDialog long time ago, see #10624).
Minimize this by using TDM_UPDATE_ELEMENT_TEXT instead of
TDM_SET_ELEMENT_TEXT for changing the element text. This still increases
the dialog size if the new element text is longer than the old value,
but at least doesn't shrink it back if it is shorter, which is already
quite an improvement.
Notice that this change requires using TDF_EXPAND_FOOTER_AREA style, as
otherwise the expanded information can't be updated without a re-layout.
But this doesn't seem to be a big loss and it's not really clear why did
we explicitly clear this flag before anyhow.
Update the dialogs sample to make it easy to test for this behaviour and
the documentation to mention MSW version peculiarities.
This library is now required when wxUSE_ACCESSIBILITY==1, but was only linked,
using a compiler-specific pragma, when using MSVC resulting in link errors
with gcc.
Fix this by adding the library to the bakefile for non-MSVC compilers and
rebaking.
Update misc/scripts/inc_release script: remove non-existent any more files and
update the version in the MSVS 200x project files not generated by bakefile
any more and MSVS 201x project files which were not previously taken into
account.
Run it and rebake.
Skipping the event is supposed to have the same effect as not handling the
event at all, but in wxMSW wxTE_PROCESS_ENTER style must be specified for a
wxEVT_TEXT_ENTER handler to be executed at all and if this style is used, then
the default handling in MSWProcessMessage() which normally happens before
calling the handler doesn't take place at all.
Work around this by explicitly performing the default "Enter" key action if
the event generated by it wasn't handled to make wxMSW behaviour more
intuitive.
Since Windows 8 there are native toast notifications available via WinRT defined in windows.ui.notifications.h. This adds support for these notifications via wxNotificationMessage. These notifications have to be explicitly enabled via wxNotificationMessage::MSWEnableToasts() because they require a start menu shortcut to the application.
wxNotificationMessage has been refactored to always use wxNotificationMessageImpl (this was previously already done in the MSW implementation)
This adds various features and fixes to wxNotificationMessage:
- OS X Notification Center implementation
- Generic "toast" notifications
- SetIcon() to specify a custom icon
- AddAction() to add actions to notifications
- Events to get notify of notification clicks, dismiss or actions
In practice, almost everybody using validators also seems to use this style,
so make it the default (this hadn't been done when it was originally
introduced because of compatibility concerns, but now, 15+ years later, it's
probably safe enough to change this).
Windows CE doesn't seem to be supported by Microsoft any longer. Last CE
release was in early 2013 and the PocketPC and Smartphone targets supported by
wxWidgets are long gone.
The build files where already removed in an earlier cleanup this commit
removes all files, every #ifdef and all documentation regarding the Windows CE
support.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/81
Remove alignment flags that result in asserts because of being used in
combinations that don't make sense.
Also use wxSizerFlags in the lines that were changed.
Test using wxTextCtrl in the sample too to demonstrate that currently we need
to get the text contents from the event handler, retrieving it once the dialog
closes doesn't work, at least under MSW.
This is a simple high level helper combining an arbitrary control showing
multiple items with the buttons allowing to add items to and remove items from
this control, but using the buttons and the layout appropriate for the current
platform.
Add the implementation itself, an example of using it to the dialogs sample
and the documentation.

Allow customizing wxBusyInfo window by passing wxBusyInfoFlags containing
information about the icon, title, colours and frame transparency to use.
Update the sample to show such "rich" busy info.

Explicitly include $(BCCDIR)/include/windows/sdk directory in the resource
compiler options, as it needs it to find windows.h.

First of all, do define it under non-MSW platforms.
Second, don't crash in it when running under XP where wxTaskBarButton is not
available.
Also add IsAvailable() method to check for its availability explicitly and add
a demonstration of this class to the dialogs sample.

This merges in the latest sources from GSoC 2014 wxQt project with just a few
minor corrections, mostly undoing wrong changes to common files in that branch
(results of a previous bad merge?) and getting rid of whitespace-only changes.
Also remove debug logging from wxGrid.

Update bakefile configuration to include x64 configurations into MSVS 2005 and
2008 projects (2003 doesn't support building in 64 bits, 2010 and later are
manually maintained and already have them) and rebake the projects.

This compiler is not being developed since several years and almost certainly
can't be used to build the current wxWidgets sources anyhow, so remove all
support for it, including a lot of extremely ugly workarounds for its bugs
with template functions.

Most importantly, this allows us to remove all MSLU-related stuff.
Some functions which were previously loaded dynamically can now be just used
directly, too.

This port is not used and is not being worked on, so remove it to reduce the
amount of the code which needs to be updated for every global change.
Also remove tests for VisualAge compiler which isn't used since ages.

Don't support this compiler any more, this allows to get rid of tons of
MSVC6-specific workarounds, in particular we can now use Bind() and natural
template functions calls in the library code.
Also remove MSVC6 project and solution files and don't generate them when
bakefile_gen is ran any more (removing the remaining occurrences of msvc6prj
from the bakefiles results in weird bake-time errors, so it's simpler to just
leave them there).

Improve showing the button which closed the message box by doing it inside the
dialog used for testing it instead of popping up a separate message box just
for this.
And do the same thing for rich message boxes as for the normal ones.

This dialog was getting too tall, especially in the rich message boxes case,
so reduce its vertical size.
Also centre it on screen to prevent it from being displayed partially off it
because contents was added to the dialog after creating it.

This style tells the dialog to return the paths of the link being selected
without dereferencing it.
Currently only implemented under wxMSW as the links are not dereferenced by
default in wxGTK anyhow. But we may want to change this and implement it there
too for consistency in the future.
