e8375af8ff remove wxWindow::m_needParent and use GTKNeedsParent() which can be overridden in just wxMenuBar (and not set in each and every wxGTK control)

a1abca322f Reorganize idle system code.

30083ad8e7 Support encodings in wxGTK_CONV_BACK() in the same way as we do it in 
wxGTK_CONV(), i.e. return the string containing text in ISO-8859-1 encoding
and not UTF-8 if the controls font was set to have ISO-8859-1 encoding

5f11fef543 use the encoding of the font which is used to draw the text when convering it to UTF-8 in wxGTK_CONV; the old wxGTK_CONV renamed to wxGTK_CONV_SYS (uses system encoding) and used in the contexts where no font is available

9fa72bd2a6 Use g_signal* instead of deprecated gtk_signal*. Use proper casts for the arguments. 
Worth norting from the GTK+ docs: "For future usage, direct use of the GSignal API is recommended, this avoids
significant performance hits where GtkArg structures have to be converted into GValues."
