Since the changes in a40acbb28e (Add CanOverflow function to
wxGridCellAttr, 2020-02-06), cells with non-default vertical alignment
didn't overflow any more, even if their horizontal alignment was
unchanged and still defaulted to left-aligned.
This was due to assuming that if the alignment of wxGridCellAttr itself
was different from wxALIGN_LEFT, it meant that it wasn't left-aligned,
which seems logical but is in fact false, as the alignment can also be
wxALIGN_INVALID, in which case the real alignment is taken from the
default grid attribute.
Fix this by using GetNonDefaultAlignment() to get the alignment value
effectively used and add a unit test, as well as an example in the
sample, showing that this now works correctly.
This makes it possible to use wxObjectDataPtr inside functions returning
raw pointers owned by the caller, such as custom GetAttr() in the grid
sample.
In many case SetTable() is called with its takeOwnership parameter set
to true, as shown by the grid sample in which all 3 of the calls to
SetTable() set it to true, but calling it in this case is awkward, as
bare "true" in the caller is unreadable and almost invariably requires
an explanatory comment.
Improve the API by adding AssignTable(), which is the same to SetTable()
as the existing AssignImageList() to SetImageLabel(), which always takes
ownership of the table pointer.
This API is not implemented yet, i.e. ellipsization mode is not
respected for now. This commit just adds the API, documents it and adds
an example of using it in the sample.
Replace "bool overflow" flag with a class allowing to specify the same
overflow/clipping behaviour currently, but also allowing to extend it,
notable to add ellipsization support, in the future.
Preserve the existing API by reimplementing it in terms of the new one.
Also update the same to demonstrate a cell which always overflows,
independently of the default cell behaviour.
Add labels for the columns using date format and labels for the cells
using date renderer/editor explicitly to give a better idea about what's
going on here.
Also use the same rows numbers for date cells as for the column ones for
consistency.
No real changes.

Add wxGrid::DisableHidingColumns() method which can be used to prevent
wxHeaderCtrl from allowing the user to hide columns interactively, which
is something it allows to do by default, unlike the "built-in" wxGrid
header.
Also add EnableHidingColumns() and CanHideColumns() for consistency with
the other similar methods.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1554
Add wxGrid::FreezeTo() method which allows to freeze the given number of
columns and/or rows at the beginning of the grid, i.e. keep them pinned
in place while the rest of the grid is scrolled.
The main wxGridWindow (m_gridWin) now corresponds to the non-frozen part
of the grid, with up to 3 new similar windows for the frozen
rows/columns and the frozen corner cells (which only exist if both rows
and columns are frozen) being additionally used.
Doing this involved adding "wxGridWindow*" parameter to many functions
that previously only worked with m_gridWin itself and addressing
additional complications, such as mouse events that can now cross
different windows.
See https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/952 for the original
version of the changes.
The "Native" menu item actually only toggled drawing native-lookalike
labels, but didn't use wxHeaderCtrl as could be expected. Rename the
existing menu item to "Native-like" and add the new "Native" one which
really enables the use of wxHeaderCtrl.
Add wxGridCellDateRenderer and wxGridCellDateRenderer which can be used
for the grid cells containing only dates, without times.
Also add wxGrid::SetColFormatDate() convenience function.
Refactor wxGridCellDateTimeRenderer slightly to reuse its code.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1101
Pass wxStrings directly to wxString::Format("%s") and similar
pseudo-vararg functions, there is no need for c_str() there since
wxWidgets 2.9.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1009
Still use Connect() in unit tests which were written explicitly for it
and in EventConnector, which can't use Bind() as it uses a variable for
the event type.
No real changes, just use the newer and more convenient function.
Allow to quickly check that cell/block/row/column selection works as expected.
This could be made more detailed, e.g. by dumping all the selected cells/rows/
columns if there are not too many of them, but for now this will do.
This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

By default the columns are auto-sized to fit just their label, which is fast
but not very user-friendly. Allow customizing this behaviour by handling the
(new) wxEVT_GRID_COL_AUTO_SIZE event.

Don't assert if an already hidden/shown row/column is being hidden/shown again
but simply don't do anything. This is more convenient because the code outside
wxGrid has no efficient way to only hide a row/column if it's currently shown.

There were two fundamental problems: first, we painted on a separately created
wxClientDC instead of using the wxPaintDC already available in wxGrid. Second,
we invalidated the control while painting, resulting in endless repainting, at
least under wxGTK.
Fix the first problem by passing wxDC to wxGridCellEditor::PaintBackground()
and the second one by not refreshing the control from there as it just seems
unnecessary.
Also pass the attribute by reference for consistency with
wxGridCellRenderer::Draw() and because this pointer can never be NULL.

Allow making TAB/Shift-TAB wrap to the next/previous row or going to the
next/previous control when the cursor is at the end/beginning of the current
row easily.
Also add wxEVT_GRID_TABBING event to allow customizing TAB behaviour even
further.
Update the sample to show the different possible standard behaviours and a
stupid example of a custom one (it would be probably more useful to implement
something a tad more realistic, e.g. tabbing to the next non-empty cell).

Add a special symbol which is defined only if the icons and other images (e.g.
cursor) are in the separate resource files and don't need to be embedded as
XPMs in the main program.
This makes the checks more clear and more customizable as it's enough to
change wxHAS_IMAGES_IN_RESOURCES definition instead of changing many platform
checks.

Additionally renamed wxOSX' private wxNativePrinterDC::Ok() function to IsOk().
Didn't deprecate the various Ok() functions: given the amount of changes already introduced in 3.0 a trivial one like this seems more suitable for after 3.0.

This code is broken as it doesn't always show the selection correctly and
doesn't handle rows-or-columns selection mode at all. Until we can fix it
properly it's better to not have it at all so that at least people avoid
copying the wrong code into their own programs.

wxGridCellAttr didn't provide any way to query its alignment attributes
without falling back to the (always defined) default alignment so the code in
wxGridCellNumberRenderer and similar classes simply always used right
alignment,
Add a new wxGridCellAttr::GetNonDefaultAlignment() function which allows to
retrieve the alignment defined in the attribute and use it to use right
alignment by default but allow overriding it.
Add a test to the sample showing a non right-aligned numeric cell.
Incidentally fix a long-standing bug in wxGridCell{DateTime,Enum}Renderers
which used wxRIGHT instead of wxALIGN_RIGHT and so were not aligned properly
even by default.
