No real changes, just get rid of an unnecessary instance of
wxWindowList: this one can be safely replaced with a vector because it's
a private member and so changing its type doesn't affect compatibility.
Change wxGetInstallPrefix() to return a string instead of const
wxChar*. The latter was incorrectly obtained from a temporary string if
WXPREFIX was set. While it's possible to fix in a backward compatible
manner without changing the function's signature, it's not worth the
effort for something pretty obscure and used mostly internally.
Allow building without wxMenuBar (but with wxMenu), as this class
doesn't exist and can't be reasonably implemented under iOS (but
wxMenu can and should be, as it's widely used in iOS 14 UI).
This ensures that they are always available and can be used in
wxLaunchDefaultBrowser() in all build variants, whereas before this
function didn't handle file:// URLs correctly when the library was built
with wxUSE_FILESYSTEM==0.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1469Closes#10414.
13068d3603 introduced code for stripping
CJK mnemonics (i.e. trailing " (&X)") from the menu items, but due to
the use of wxStripMenuCodes() in wxControl::GetLabelText(), it also
applied to the control labels, resulting in wrongly measuring their size
(because the text used for measurement didn't include the "(&X)" part)
and truncating them in display.
Fix this by adding an explicit wxStrip_CJKMnemonics and using it only in
the code dealing with the menu item labels. This requires more changes
than just modifying GetLabelText() to use some wxStrip_NoCJKMnemonics
flag, but is more compatible as it's not impossible that some existing
code using wxStripMenuCodes() could be broken by this change too, while
now the existing behaviour is preserved.
Also improve wxStrip_XXX documentation.

Closes#18452.
This reverts commit a05ae051d8 and allows
to correctly decode UTF-8 output of child processes again.
Also add a (disabled by default) test allowing to verify that this does
work now.
Closes#14720, #18382.
The documentation comment belongs to interface/wx/math.h, not the header
under include.
Also change the argument type to wxUint32 as the non-gcc version only
works for 32 bit values.
Generate wxJoystickEvent with the same fields under all platforms by
making the Linux and macOS versions follow MSW convention of using
"1 << N" for the changed button.
Add GetButtonOrdinal() accessor which can be used to retrieve just N.
Closes#18233.
Changes of c0b0562533 to common code broke
wxGTK1 build, as wx/gtk/private/wrapgtk.h is for wxGTK 2+ only.
Fix this by handling wxGTK 1 separately and including gtk/gtk.h directly
for it.
Hopefully this code will be removed, together with the rest of wxGTK1
support, in some not so distant future.
Add wx/gtk/private/wrapgtk.h wrapping gtk/gtk.h in pragmas disabling
these warnings and include it everywhere instead of directly including
gtk/gtk.h.
Also include wx/gtk/private/gtk2-compat.h from this wrapper header as it
was included by 90% of the files including gtk/gtk.h itself and it seems
to be better and simpler to just always include it.
1. Integer instead of floating point arithmetic should be used in calculations.
2. Because this function always returns 2 hexadecimal characters, its parameter type should be changed from 'int' to 'unsigned char' to avoid misunderstandings and prevent misuses.
Closes#12612.
Chinese, Japanese etc translations use a special style for the menu mnemonics
and append them to the translated menu label in brackets, e.g. the menu label
could have the form of "<translation-of-file> (&F)".
Check for this style of mnemonics in wxStripMenuCodes() too and strip them as
well.
The hack used in cc774bb301 to include some
standard headers after undefining __STRICT_ANSI__ doesn't work when
precompiled headers are used because the headers had been already included
from wx/wxprec.h then.
So instead bite the bullet and just reproduce MinGW stdlib.h declarations to
define "environ" ourselves, it's not that bad and hopefully won't need much
maintenance as later versions won't need the strict ANSI workarounds at all.
As for tzset(), wxDECL_FOR_STRICT_MINGW32() can be used for it without any
problems at all, not sure why hasn't it been done like this since the
beginning.
See #16984.
Add a helper wxLaunchBrowserParams struct with clearly distinct "url" and
"path" fields and GetPathOrURL() accessor which returns whichever is
appropriate.
This makes the code more clear and ensures that we never pass URLs (but only
file paths) to xdg-open under Unix as it doesn't handle them.
See #17227.
Windows CE doesn't seem to be supported by Microsoft any longer. Last CE
release was in early 2013 and the PocketPC and Smartphone targets supported by
wxWidgets are long gone.
The build files where already removed in an earlier cleanup this commit
removes all files, every #ifdef and all documentation regarding the Windows CE
support.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/81
These options enable "strict ANSI" mode in MinGW which omits declarations of
POSIX functions from the standard headers. To allow the library and, possibly
even more importantly, the user code including our headers, to compile with
these options, declare the functions that we need ourselves.
This might appear to go against the spirit of "strict ANSI" mode, but the only
alternative would be to not use such functions at all and silently cripple the
library when -std=c++NN is used, compared to -std=g++NN case, and this doesn't
seem appealing neither.

This merges in the latest sources from GSoC 2014 wxQt project with just a few
minor corrections, mostly undoing wrong changes to common files in that branch
(results of a previous bad merge?) and getting rid of whitespace-only changes.
Also remove debug logging from wxGrid.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

The functions are available in wxBase builds too, but wx/windowid.h
isn't. Rather than always including that header, just use int, for which
wxWindowID is a typedef. This keeps the functions available in wxBase
for compatibility and is consistent with how IDs are handled in other
parts of wxBase, particularly wxEvent.

wxNewId(), wxRegisterId() and wxGetCurrentId() functions all work with

worked with long, which is not even the same type (wxWindowID is int),
