0c14b6c324 fix the incoherence pointed out by ifacecheck between wx docs, that documents usage of the wxFontFamily, wxFontStyle and wxFontWeight enums in wxFont setters and getters, and the actual sources, which use 'int' instead; provided the same backward-compatibility pattern already used for wxBrush,wxPen both against 'int' overloads and against the wxDeprecatedGUIConstants enum values

fdaad94e75 deprecate wxDC::SetClippingRegion(wxRegion) overload and replace it with SetDeviceClippingRegion() to avoid confusion due to use of different kind of coordinates in this and other overloads of the same function; also rename wxDCImpl::DoSetClippingRegionAsRegion() to DoSetDeviceClippingRegion(); finally use bounding box of the region passed to wxDCClipper ctor to avoid interpreting coordinates differently for different ctors of the same class (see #8970)

105fbe1ffa Rework wxMotif font/color inheritance so it works 
like in the other ports.  Avoid setting foreground/background
color for windows and let the toolkit use the natural color.
As an intermediate step font is still explicitly set.

  Handle the cases where m_foregroundColour, m_backgroundColour ir m_font
are not initialized.

  Set default (overridable) X resources to emulate the old look.

  Unify wxMOTIF_NEW_FONT_HANDLING with wxMOTIF_USE_RENDER_TABLE.

  Minor unrelated (sizing) fixes to wxCheckListBox, wxStaticText, wxTextCtrl.

  Tagged with MOTIF_BEFORE_COLOUR_FONT_INHERITANCE before the changes.

3e0071d949 Fix buffer overrun in Linux/x86_64 (Pixel is a 64 bit long, passing 
a 32 bit int pointer to XtVaGetValues will cause trouble). Using a long
should suffice. A configure test would be better.

996994c714 Allow displaying Japanese character with wxMotif/ANSI under a 
Japanese EUC-JP locale:

- add a #define (wxMOTIF_NEW_FONT_HANDLING) defaulting to
  off
- factor the code for getting text extents in a central
  wxGetTextExtent function
- when the new font handling is enabled load a fontset instead of
  a single font. For non-Japanese locales this should load a fontset
  containing a single font.
- on a Japanese locale set the default point size to 15: the Japanese
  fonts I have are much more readable like this.
- do not set the wordwrap property for multiline wxTextCtrl with
  OpenMotif 2.1, otherwise it crashes when text is added

148b44a1e7 Used wxRegion code from wxX11. 
Removed update rect list from wxWindow
(not necessary anymore).
  Simplified and corrected clipping region handling
in wxWindowDC. Stopped wxWindowDC::DoBlit from
destroying the clipping region.
  Simplified wxPaintDC code.
Added wxWindow::DoCreateScrollBar helper function.

69c4481222 Use some wxX11 files (currently pen.cpp and brush.cpp) in wxMotif. 
Add src/x11 to VPATH in configure, and add a new flag to filelist.txt
indicating a file used in wxMotif but not in wxMotif directory.
  Modifed VMS makefiles, too (should be checked by someone with VMS,
though).

2b830c41f7 Do not use stipple when drawing text, use solid foreground/background 
colour instead.
  Use XSetTile/FillTiled instead of XSetStipple/FillStippled, otherwise
BadMatch errors occur in wxDC::SetBrush.
