d2824cdb7f Review/simplify/cleanup MDI classes for all platforms and introduce base 
classes for wxMDI{Parent,Child}Frame and wxMDIClientWindow.

Also use generic MDI implementation for wxMotif as it seems to be more
functional and definitely is more maintained (we probably should use the
generic version for wxGTK too).

0c14b6c324 fix the incoherence pointed out by ifacecheck between wx docs, that documents usage of the wxFontFamily, wxFontStyle and wxFontWeight enums in wxFont setters and getters, and the actual sources, which use 'int' instead; provided the same backward-compatibility pattern already used for wxBrush,wxPen both against 'int' overloads and against the wxDeprecatedGUIConstants enum values

fdaad94e75 deprecate wxDC::SetClippingRegion(wxRegion) overload and replace it with SetDeviceClippingRegion() to avoid confusion due to use of different kind of coordinates in this and other overloads of the same function; also rename wxDCImpl::DoSetClippingRegionAsRegion() to DoSetDeviceClippingRegion(); finally use bounding box of the region passed to wxDCClipper ctor to avoid interpreting coordinates differently for different ctors of the same class (see #8970)

e86f2cc84a reorganized wxBitmap/wxBitmapHandler classes to use wxBitmapType instead of "long" where possible; made them const-correct; introduce wxBITMAP_SCREEN_DEPTH instead of -1 for clearness (specially in the docs); remove wxBitmapHandler empty stubs and rename wxBitmapHandlerBase as wxBitmapHandler

ac3688c0d8 make the Pen/Brush code backward compatible as discussed on wx-dev; marked the blocks of code to deprecate in future with FUTURE_WXWIN_COMPATIBILITY_3_0; add wxCHECK_MSG in all ports to block Get*() calls on invalid objects (as already is for all other refcounted objects and for most ports)

b150bffc9e fixed linking with visibility enabled on Ubuntu and some other systems (any gcc 4.2 amd64?) by removing superfluous virtual wxColour::Ok() (already in wxColourBase) -- do this in all ports, not just wxGTK

a236aa2058 many wxItemContainer-related changes: 
1. the main function for item insertion is now DoInsertItems() which allows
   for much more efficient addition of many new items at once
2. the items client data management is done entirely in wxItemContainer
   itself, the derived classes don't have to distinguish between void and
   object client data
3. many fixes for sorted controls, in particular implemented wxCB_SORT support
   in wxGTK combobox

650c0aa918 cleanup of raw access to bitmaps: 
1. remove UseAlpha() on platforms that don't need it and call it automatically from ~wxPixelData instead of requiring explicit call; deprecate wxPixelData::UseAlpha()
2. don't call UngetRawData() if GetRawData() failed

04ab8b6ddf Moved all the coordinate system calculation to wxDCBase 
and thus removed all the duplicated code in all wxDC
   classes.
  Problematic is that wxSVGFileDC and wxPostscriptDC inherit
   from wxDC and therefore include platform specific code
   (also before this change) so I chose to override all
   SetLogicalOrigin() etc. methods in these classes and
   call their wxDCBase methods thereby circumventing the
   platform dependent code.
  I'm afraid the Mac code will require updating, too.

621b83d9b3 Made device to logical and vv conversion methods 
virtual and implement them like any other method
    in the wxDC classes, not only in the their files
    but somehow belonging to the wxDCBase class.
  This is required for plugging in differnt DC backends
    with different conversions.
  Ideally (and absolutely possible ) all these methods
    should be removed and just the one in wxDCBase
    should stay using values set in the various
    derived classes.

dc3065a56f Big wxGL classes refactoring/cleanup: 
1. Provide the same API, especially, but not limited to, wxGLCanvas and
   wxCLContext ctors (which were completely different in all ports)
2. Extracted common parts into wxGLCanvas/ContextBase classes
3. Deprecate the old API using implicitly created wxGLContext
