eed04c9999 changed ShowWithEffects() to use directional wxSHOW_EFFECT_XXX flags instead of additional wxDirection argument that doesn't always make sense; this also means the direction is never implicit

6f3f9b50aa Made wxBORDER_THEME the same as wxBORDER_DEFAULT 
Moved wxControl::GetBorderStyle into wxWindowMSW::GetBorderStyle
but added GetBorderStyle to have the same behaviour as before (so e.g.
notebook panels don't get borders)
Improved help window borders

a047aff270 Added wxBORDER_THEME, wxWindow::GetDefaultBorderForControl(), wxWindow::CanApplyThemeBorder(). 
wxTextCtrl and wxSearchCtrl now get the correct border on wxMSW, and the wxRichTextCtrl sample
also now demonstrates correct borders.

5acec11245 added a generic mechanism for registering global handlers for custom windows messages and use it in wxFindReplaceDialog instead of subclassing the parent window, this solves the problem with having 2 find dialogs with the same parent (replaces patch 1447739)

47a8a4d5cc make IsEnabled() return false even if the window parent, and not the window itself, is disabled and added IsThisEnabled() implementing the old IsEnabled() behaviour; also significantly simplify the window state management code in all ports by factoring out the common parts in wxWindowBase

8e44f3caab Worked around an apparent bug in Windows whereby some deferred positioning 
failed: specifically when changing a position from x, to y, to x again.
Added deferred positioning to wxRadioBox, wxSlider and wxSpinCtrl and thereby
eliminated some refresh glitches when resizing.
Eliminated further refresh glitches caused by wxRadioBox (to nearby controls)
by refreshing parent when the radio box moves.

c3732409ac simplifications and corrections to background drawing: 
1. removed ApplyParentThemeBackground() not used any longer
2. removed ProvidesBackground() which is synonymous with
   !HasTransparentBackground()
3. removed a whole bunch of unused MSWXXX() methods
4. moved MSWControlColor() from wxWindow up to wxControl

results:

1. the gradient is still shown properly for static/radio boxes in notebooks
2. correct background colour is used for the static boxes
3. code is shorter and better commented
