a916f7f917 Fix wxX11 build with wxUSE_STL=1 
Add missing utf8_str() call as implicit conversion is not available in
wxUSE_STL=1 case (notice that this also makes wxUSE_STL=0 work correctly when
not using UTF-8 locale).

Closes #17412.

a380c1e46f Add public wxDegToRad() and wxRadToDeg() functions.

dc1f61892b Don't use long deprecated and now removed pangox library in wxX11 any more. 
Use pangoxft only now.

Also remove the apparently unused src/x11/pangox11.cpp file, only
src/x11/pango_x.cpp seems to be used (and this one only by being included in
src/x11/dcclient.cpp).

Closes #15482.

3f66f6a5b3 Remove all lines containing cvs/svn "$Id$" keyword. 
This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.

If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

Closes #14487.

5f480c0bf1 Don't test for DC validity in wxX11 wxDC text extent functions. 
The code in GetTextExtent() and GetChar{Width,Height}() works fine even for
non-initialized wxMemoryDC and the ellipsization unit test relies on this
working so simply remove the asserts which resulted in the test failures.

0b2a860f0d Use wxString methods for UTF-8 conversions in wxX11 code. 
Use wxString::utf8_str() and FromUTF8() to convert to and from UTF-8. This is
more efficient than using wxConvUTF8 as the code did before as it avoids the
conversion entirely when wxString uses UTF-8 internally (as it does by default
in wxX11) and also has the advantage of compiling in STL build unlike the old
code.

Closes #12518.

02e2609962 Small clean up in wxX11 Pango code.

679918f93d Rename wxWindow::GetMainWindow() to X11GetMainWindow() in wxX11. 
This avoids conflicts with GetMainWindow() defined in other wxWindow-derived
classes (such as wxDataViewCtrl and potentially user-defined classes as well).

Closes #11818.

03647350fc No changes, just removed hard tabs and trailing white space. 
This commit is huge but there are no non-white-space changes in it.

Some files containing third-party sources (src/msw/wince/time.cpp,
src/x11/pango*.cpp) were left unchanged.

fdaad94e75 deprecate wxDC::SetClippingRegion(wxRegion) overload and replace it with SetDeviceClippingRegion() to avoid confusion due to use of different kind of coordinates in this and other overloads of the same function; also rename wxDCImpl::DoSetClippingRegionAsRegion() to DoSetDeviceClippingRegion(); finally use bounding box of the region passed to wxDCClipper ctor to avoid interpreting coordinates differently for different ctors of the same class (see #8970)

b886fae648 Main change is that we now close X11 display on program exit: as this couldn't 
be done in wxApp dtor (too early), a special module had to be created for it
and module dependencies added for the other modules which have to be cleaned
up while the display is still open.

Also a few minor formatting changes and removed a couple of unused variables
from wxApp.
