017dc06b50 Use wxString::t_str() in calls to Windows API functions in wxMSW. 
Use t_str() instead of wx_str() to make the code work correctly in UTF-8 build
in which wx_str() returns a pointer to UTF-8 buffer while we need a wchar_t
pointer for Windows.

Closes #14371.

3037427243 Fixed x64 application termination after exceptions in a file dialog callback. 
Since Windows 7 exceptions thrown in a file dialog callback (possibly by third-party utilities) aren't swallowed anymore. Make use of SetProcessUserModeExceptionPolicy (available in Windows 7 SP1) to temporarily restore the old behaviour and prevent the crashing (or summoning of the Program Compatibility Assistant) of an x64 application.

Closes #13674.

4c51a665c6 Fixed various typos. 
Applied patch by snowleopard2 fixing a bunch of typos such as misspellings and double words in the documentation. Combined the patch with some local queued typos waiting to be committed as well as adding new typo fixes inspired by the patch.

Function names with American spelling were not changed nor was third-party code touched. The only code changes involve some changes in strings that are translated ("Can not" -> "Cannot").

Closes #13063 (again).

7430a4bbf8 Make wxFileDialog::Set/SetPath() behave consistently. 
wxFileDialog::GetPath() didn't return the value set by a previous call to
SetPath() in wxMSW version. Fix this and also implement SetPath() and
SetDirectory() methods in the generic versions in the same way as
SetFilename().

Closes #3672.

c9f7896861 first phase of transition to unified Unicode build: 
1. changed c_str() to return wxCStrData (implicitly convertible to wxChar*)
2. added template type-safe wrappers for vararg functions
3. added wxUniChar class representing single Unicode character
4. changed wxString::operator[] and wxString::iterator to return wxUniChar

b014db05bb Add m_fsStyle next to m_windowStyle 
Add HasFdFlag()
  Use it for all tests in all variants of
    wxFileDialogs. That way it will be easier
    to change again centrally, if required.

ff3e84ffdc File/dir dialog styles and other changes (patch 1488371): 
- check invalid combinations of styles in wxFileDialogBase::Create()
- use wxFD_XXX naming convention for wxFileDialog styles
- replaces wxDD_NEW_DIR_BUTTON with wxDD_DIR_MUST_EXIST
- removes #ifdef __WXGTK24__ / #endif blocks from wxGTK code
- removes wxFileDialogBase::Get/SetStyle and wxFileDialogBase::m_fileName
- renames wxDirDialogGTK to wxDirDialog
