Do this for consistency with the other ports and because this seems more
useful anyhow.
Update the documentation to make this behaviour more clear and document
this change as a (minor) incompatibility in wxMSW.
Also add more unit tests to check for this behaviour. Note this also
fixes the problem with the unit test added in the grandparent commit
under MSW.
No real changes, just clean up sources by removing trailing spaces from
all the non-generated files.
This should hopefully avoid future commits mixing significant changes
with insignificant whitespace ones.
Remove or reset the corresponding bitmap if the provided one is invalid
instead of asserting, this is what wxGTK does and this behaviour seems to be
more useful.
Also document this behaviour as it's now implemented in both wxMSW and wxGTK.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.
