Apply DPI scaling to the extra vertical margin added by this macro to
the font height.
This makes sense and results in wxTextCtrl (and other controls, e.g.
wxSearchCtrl) having the same height as native ones when using high DPI
too.
Note that this required adding wxGetEditHeightFromCharHeight() function
as one of the existing uses of EDIT_HEIGHT_FROM_CHAR_HEIGHT() wasn't
inside a wxWindow-derived class method and also adding wxUSE_GUI guard
around these GUI-only definitions as a function, unlike a macro, can't
be compiled without full wxWindow declaration in scope.
By now all compilers/SDKs should hopefully have {Get,Set}WindowLongPtr()
and GWLP_XXX constants, so there is no reason to keep separate, and
differing by return type in wxGetWindowProc() case (oversight?),
versions of these functions for Win32 and Win64 builds.
Combine them in a single version appropriate for both cases.
WNDPROC and FARPROC are not the same thing in MSW and it's wrong to use
WXFARPROC as the type of different window procedures we use.
Introduce WXWNDPROC which is more clear and correct and use it instead.
Also get rid of a few casts which are not necessary any longer.
This parameter wasn't used anyhow and casting wxWndProc or m_oldWndProc
to WXFARPROC just resulted in gcc8 -Wcast-function-type warnings.
Get rid of them by not passing the window proc to this function at all.
Somehow this compiled with the previous gcc versions (as well as MSVS),
but a static_cast from an integer wxUIntPtr type to a pointer HANDLE
type is obviously invalid and a reinterpret_cast is needed here.
This fixes compilation with g++ 8.
Do not use 'RADIO_SIZE 20' as the fixed width of the radio button, but use the actual width as returned by wxRendererNative.
wxRendererNative has no GetRadioButtonSize, so for now use GetCheckBoxSize. It returns the same sizes.
Also add a half character width to account for the space between the button and the label.
There is no need to add extra width to the label of the static box.
Closes#18010.
Add wxMSWWinStyleUpdater and wxMSWWinExStyleUpdater helper classes which
allow writing code changing GWL_STYLE and GWL_EXSTYLE bits,
respectively, in a shorter and more clear way.
There should be no real changes in behaviour.
wxGetWinVersion() will return wxWinVersion_Unknown for any MSW version
not recognized by the version of wxWidgets used when building the
application, so it makes sense to use a value higher than all currently
known ones for this constant, so that the checks comparing the result of
wxGetWinVersion() with any known version would still work correctly.
E.g. comparisons like wxGetWinVersion() >= wxWinVersion_Vista will now
continue to work for binaries built using the current wxWidgets even
under some future Windows 11 OS version, unlike before.
The include/wx/msw/private.h header contains a violation of the C++
standards that MSVC tolerates but Clang/LLVM does not.
WinBase.h contains the definition:
#define INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE ((HANDLE)(LONG_PTR)-1)
Which wxWidgets uses in:
template <wxUIntPtr INVALID_VALUE =
(wxUIntPtr)INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE>
The (effective) reinterpret_cast-ing of INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE in
WinBase.h means that the define isn't actually usable as a constant
expression for the template parameter.
Clang has indicated they have no intention of adding an MSVC
compatibility workaround for this problem. See LLVM bug 12116:
https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12116
Given this, rework the wxWidgets header to remove the default
template parameter value (it is not used anywhere).
With this change, it's possible to compile wxWidgets applications
using Clang/LLVM (5.0) under MSVC.
Windows CE doesn't seem to be supported by Microsoft any longer. Last CE
release was in early 2013 and the PocketPC and Smartphone targets supported by
wxWidgets are long gone.
The build files where already removed in an earlier cleanup this commit
removes all files, every #ifdef and all documentation regarding the Windows CE
support.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/81
These options enable "strict ANSI" mode in MinGW which omits declarations of
POSIX functions from the standard headers. To allow the library and, possibly
even more importantly, the user code including our headers, to compile with
these options, declare the functions that we need ourselves.
This might appear to go against the spirit of "strict ANSI" mode, but the only
alternative would be to not use such functions at all and silently cripple the
library when -std=c++NN is used, compared to -std=g++NN case, and this doesn't
seem appealing neither.

The EDIT control used by the native combobox is different from normal EDIT
controls and has to be handled specially.
We also need to explicitly forward WS_EX_LAYOUTRTL to the dropdown window as
it doesn't inherit it from the combobox itself automatically.

wxASSERT_MSG( m_menuDepth > 0, wxS("No open menus?") );
The conditions to reproduce:
- Windows 8.1
- An application manifest that indicates Windows 8.1 compatibility
In this case, wxGetWinVersion() used to return wxWinVersion_Unknown (Without a manifest indicating 8.1 support, wxWinVersion_8 is being returned). This in turn causes the version check against Windows98 in toplevel.cpp:450 to fail, ultimately leading to the mentioned assert.
See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms724439%28v=vs.85%29.aspx for details.
This patch on trunk adjusts adds the wxWinVersion_8_1 enum value and returns it on Windows 8.1 if the program is manifested as such.
In future, a different approach needs to be chosen that does not depend the deprecated GetVersion function.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.
