5487ff0f50 use const wxMBConv& instead of wxMBConv& in public methods so that it's possible to pass in temporary objects; 
don't use global wxConvUTF8 object internally, it may be unavailable at static objects destruction time

80e62471ad Change the factory constructor to not use a predefined wxMBConv object as it 
prevents global instances of the factories. The predefined converters are
references which may not have been initialised when a global factory's
constructor runs.
