b18e2046af pass wxIntPtr, not wxUIntPtr, to wxListCtrl::SortItems() callback as it's more compatible with the existing code assuming that this parameter is signed (as our own wxFileCtrl did)

80cc5fc7ad document column reordering in wxListCtrl; fix confusion between GetColumnOrder() and GetColumnIndexFromOrder() doing this discovered; show the use of these methods in the sample and added a unit test for them

937013e0fd 1. added wxEvtHandler::SafelyProcessEvent() and wxWindow::HandleWindowEvent() to correctly handle exceptions in even handlers in wxGTK 
2. use HandleWindowEvent() everywhere as more obvious and convenient shortcut for GetEventHandler()->ProcessEvent(); also for consistency with wxGTK where it's required

c9f7896861 first phase of transition to unified Unicode build: 
1. changed c_str() to return wxCStrData (implicitly convertible to wxChar*)
2. added template type-safe wrappers for vararg functions
3. added wxUniChar class representing single Unicode character
4. changed wxString::operator[] and wxString::iterator to return wxUniChar
