59b7da02ff Return wxFONTFAMILY_DEFAULT, not UNKNOWN, from wxFont::GetFamily(). 
Although returning wxFONTFAMILY_UNKNOWN when the font family is not recognized
makes more sense, it breaks a lot of existing code including all the
font-related code generated by DialogBlocks, so prefer to return
wxFONTFAMILY_DEFAULT instead -- which can't be confused for a valid font
family neither but can be passed to wxFont ctor or SetFamily() without
problems.

To ensure that this behaviour is correctly implemented by all ports, rename
the existing wxFont::GetFamily() to DoGetFamily() and call the new method from
wxFontBase::GetFamily() which adjusts the return value if needed.

Closes #12330.

5276b0a53c Use wxDELETE() and wxDELETEA() when possible. 
Use wxDELETE[A]() functions which automatically NULL out their arguments after
deleting them instead of doing it manually.

Closes #9685.

d38315df30 Remove identic implementations of wxDir::Exists from platform-specific files and put it in dircmn.cpp (they all used wxDirExists). 
Add wxDir::Make() and wxDir::Remove() for coherency with wxDir::Exists() and document them as simple aliases to wxFileName functions, just a bit more readable.

8462a84b2c Removed wxFont::Set/GetNoAntiAliasing() implementations. 
Most of them were dummy and didn't do anything and this API was never meant to
be used anyhow.

Keep just the declarations in wxFontBase but mark them as deprecated.

9a83f86094 Globally replace _T() with wxT().

43b2d5e7c3 Put braces around all calls to wxLogFunctions() inside an if statement. 
This suppresses all the remaining g++ -Wparentheses warnings and uses consistent style everywhere.

d48b06bd90 check in the 'selective yield' patch (see ticket #10320): 
- implements YieldFor() with event filtering for wxMSW and wxGTK,
  adds TODO markers in other ports;
- replaces wxYield() in GTK's clipboard code with a wxTheApp->YieldFor() call, thus fixing possible reentrancies 
(and modifies clipboard sample to test synchronous IsSupported calls)
- replaces wxYieldIfNeeded() calls in wxProgressDialog with wxTheApp->YieldFor() calls, so that it processes only 
UI/user-input events, thus fixing the race condition visible in the "thread" sample
- documents the new functions

0c14b6c324 fix the incoherence pointed out by ifacecheck between wx docs, that documents usage of the wxFontFamily, wxFontStyle and wxFontWeight enums in wxFont setters and getters, and the actual sources, which use 'int' instead; provided the same backward-compatibility pattern already used for wxBrush,wxPen both against 'int' overloads and against the wxDeprecatedGUIConstants enum values

fdaad94e75 deprecate wxDC::SetClippingRegion(wxRegion) overload and replace it with SetDeviceClippingRegion() to avoid confusion due to use of different kind of coordinates in this and other overloads of the same function; also rename wxDCImpl::DoSetClippingRegionAsRegion() to DoSetDeviceClippingRegion(); finally use bounding box of the region passed to wxDCClipper ctor to avoid interpreting coordinates differently for different ctors of the same class (see #8970)

937013e0fd 1. added wxEvtHandler::SafelyProcessEvent() and wxWindow::HandleWindowEvent() to correctly handle exceptions in even handlers in wxGTK 
2. use HandleWindowEvent() everywhere as more obvious and convenient shortcut for GetEventHandler()->ProcessEvent(); also for consistency with wxGTK where it's required

2ddff00c92 don't define wxEventLoop class differently in GUI and base, this breaks the 
ODR and hence results in many problems in practice; instead use wxEventLoopBase
whenever possible and #define wxEventLoop differently in console applications

04ab8b6ddf Moved all the coordinate system calculation to wxDCBase 
and thus removed all the duplicated code in all wxDC
   classes.
  Problematic is that wxSVGFileDC and wxPostscriptDC inherit
   from wxDC and therefore include platform specific code
   (also before this change) so I chose to override all
   SetLogicalOrigin() etc. methods in these classes and
   call their wxDCBase methods thereby circumventing the
   platform dependent code.
  I'm afraid the Mac code will require updating, too.

ad02525dad don't check whether the window is shown and enabled in AcceptsFocus() itself 
as it makes overriding it in derived classes problematic; provide a separate
non virtual CanAcceptFocus() method checking whether the window accepts focus
and if it can accept it now and use it instead of AcceptsFocus(); documented
AcceptsFocus() and AcceptsFocusFromKeyboard()
