Commit 952e5f3 introduced logging wxEVT_SLIDER events in addition to
scrolling events but the event count was incorrect as the wxEVT_SLIDER
handler and scrolling events handler kept their own event count.
Fix this by using a static member variable shared by both event handlers.
Don't send the event when it's redundant, i.e. doesn't really notify
about the change in the slider value.
Also add a test case for wxEVT_SLIDER and show these events in the
widgets sample.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/2080Closes#18929.
Correctly save the slider value before recreating the slider.
Layout the entire page instead of only the slider sizer.
Update the text controls after recreating the slider.
Always enable 'both sides' checkbox. It has additional effects in wxMSW.
It requires TBS_FIXEDLENGTH style.
Call InvalidateBestSize because the size of the control might change.
Call Layout in the widgets sample to adjust to the changed size.
Use GetThumbLength() instead of the arbitrary defined THUMB size.
Not all widgets are controls and we don't use any of wxControl-specific
methods in the sample, so don't require RecreateWidget() to return a wxControl
when a simple wxWindow suffices.
No real changes.
Ensure that the various attributes (colours, font, border, ...) are preserved
when a widget is recreated or the current page is changed. This is more
convenient and also avoids discrepancies between the state of the menu items
and the actual state of the widget.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

This parameter was never needed nor properly documented. Simply remove it from
SetTickFreq() and keep the overload still taking it for backwards
compatibility only.

Use "wxWindows licence" and not "wxWidgets licence" (the latter doesn't
exist) and consistently spell "licence" using British spelling.

Support wxSL_{LEFT,TOP,RIGHT,BOTTOM} in wxGTL version of wxSlider.
Make the display of the orientations in the slider page of the widgets sample
more clear.
Also document wxSL_<DIR> meaning better.

wxGTK doesn't currently take wxSL_{LEFT,RIGHT,TOP,BOTTOM} styles into account
but at least make it change the slider orientation correctly depending on them.
