The code in the example showing how to create a new event class
confusingly used several names for the event type.
Fix this and also prefix the name of the new event type with "EVT_" to
match wxWidgets convention for naming event types.
Also explicitly mark the parts that are not needed if only Bind() is
used for event handling.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1586
Make wxEVT_MENU_HIGHLIGHT generation when there is no highlighted item
consistent across all the major ports: use wxID_NONE instead of wxID_ANY
in wxGTK and send these events, which were previously not sent at all in
this case, in wxOSX.
See https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1637
We don't provide binaries for this compiler any more, just MinGW-w64.
Also mention that SJLJ exceptions propagation mechanism is only used in
32-bit builds.
Done by running misc/scripts/inc_release, manually updating version.bkl,
rebaking and rerunning autoconf.
Also a header for the next version to the change log.
This is not relevant any longer, all supported macOS versions support
x86-64 binaries and the latest ones don't support anything else, so
there is no need to create i386 binaries any more (and PPC ones don't
work since ages).
Don't explain how to install the library first only to say that it
shouldn't be done afterwards.
Also separate the discussion of installing and distributing the
libraries.
Closes#16316.
This is still completely undiscoverable, but slightly better than only
mentioning this in a Stack Overflow answer referencing a comment in the
bug tracker.
Closes#9659.
This is always 0 for any still supported compiler, so remove the option
and configure checks for it.
Still define it as 0 for compatibility, just in case it's used outside
of the library.
Instruct people to use GetContentScaleFactor() to convert between
logical coordinates used by wxWindow and physical ones used by
wxGLCanvas.
See https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1485
Mention that we use the legacy 0.2 bakefile branch.
Also use https://www.bakefile.org/ as Bakefile home page location.
Finally, use backticks around more files names, especially those
containing asterisks, that break Markdown syntax highlighting in Vim
otherwise.
This symbol can be predefined to use the libraries built with "vc14x" as
the compiler prefix. This can be useful to reuse the same binaries for
all ABI-compatible VC 14.x versions: 14.0 (MSVS 2015), 14.1 (2017) and
14.2 (2019).
Extend the description of library selection symbols used with MSVC to a
more general discussion of MSVC-specific symbols and document the
symbols affecting compiler prefix in this section too.
At least mention wxGraphicsContext and Bind() instead of only speaking
of wxDC and event tables.
Also mention sizers.
Do _not_ mention obsolete and deprecated wxList and friends.
Notably mention that showing modal dialogs won't work in this case.
Also link to this explanation from wxListCtrl documentation as
wxEVT_LIST_ITEM_SELECTED is one of the perhaps less expected cases in
which this problem arises.
See #9973.
wxMSW always sent this event to multiline text controls, even when they
didn't have wxTE_PROCESS_ENTER style, contrary to what was documented.
Avoid sending this event unless wxTE_PROCESS_ENTER is used and add unit
tests checking that multiline text controls don't get it without this
style (but still do get it with it).
Explain how these methods actually work, remove a very (from wx 1.x
days?) outdated reference to wxPanel always calling Layout() and mention
the special case of wxTopLevelWindow in the overview too.
Draw the same shape in wxDC::DrawCheckMark() under all platforms and
provide wxRenderer::DrawCheckMark() for drawing the platform-specific
shape.
Also fix wxGCDC::DrawPoint() to use the default one point wide pen.
See https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1471
Current wxPG_FILE_DIALOG_TITLE and wxPG_DIR_DIALOG_MESSAGE attributes can be used to customize editor dialog titles only for wxFileProperty and wxDirProperty, respectively. New wxPG_DIALOG_TITLE property is applicable to all properties derived from wxEditorDialogProperty so not only editor dialog titles for wxFileProperty and wxDirProperty can be set but also for wxFontProperty, wxLongStringProperty, etc.
wxPG_FILE_DIALOG_TITLE and wxPG_DIR_DIALOG_MESSAGE attributes are marked obsolete.
Add a new flag wxXRC_USE_ENVVARS for wxXmlResourceFlags that triggers a
call to wxExpandEnvVars() for bitmap, icon and animation paths.
This flag is not set by default to avoid silently changing the behaviour
of existing applications.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1445
Several wxEVT_COMMAND_xxx constants were replaced with alternative (shorter) names in ce7fe42e84 and since 2.9.5 they are actually deprecated and shouldn't be mentioned in the documentation.
Adobe have announced the official EOL for flash is 2020 so we're
now at the point where support for flash just isn't interesting
any more.
It doesn't make sense to support it for the upcoming 3.2.x release
series, and the sample .swf files are lacking source code.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1427Closes#15886.
wxUIntProperty::DoValidation() is already declared as private and the same access level should be applied to DoValidation() in other numeric properties because these functions are helpers intended for internal use only.
