7d33179be4 Fixed the wxDirExists() function so that if asked about the root directory of a drive (i.e. "d:\") or a UNC directory, WIN32 apps will correctly report whether the dir exists

904a68b6f6 implemented wxDisplaySizeMM for gtk, msw & motif. 
used wxDisplaySize and wxDisplaySizeMM to calculate real screen PPI in
wxPostScriptPrinter.

90cfeaab3f Had to #ifdef out all the new wxGetFullHostName code as it breaks all 
the samples and apps _at least_ under mingw (and I think it will also
cause other problems). Sorry, will have to wait for 2.1.14 to be released
before this can be properly fixed.

1f0500b3ee 1. wxGetFullHostName() does return the full host name now under MSW 
2. wxGetEmailAddress() doesn't always return empty string...
3. status bar created under MSW is of type wxStatusBar, hence wxWin RTTI
   works for it
4. carsh in IPC sample fixed

bfbd6dc192 1. cursor fixes: frame does have hand cursor in the controls sample now, 
modal dialogs don't have busy cursor even if wxIsBusy()
2. wxTextCtrl sets client data field in the generated events
3. added wxEnhMetaFile::SetClipboard()

b568d04ffa 1. wxThread changes (detached/joinable) for MSW and docs updates 
2. wxUSE_GUI=0 compilation for MSW (use vc6dll.t with tmake) and many small
   fixes related to this
3. an attempt to make wxLog more MT friendly
4. a small fix for wxRegConfig: it doesn't create empty unused keys any
   more (SetPath() would always create a key, now it's deleted if it was
   empty)

223d09f6b5 replaced T() makro with wxT() due to namespace probs, _T() exists, too

42e69d6b43 1. wxMSW seems to work (please test and send your bug reports!) 
2. accelerators in the menus a la GTK (actually slightly better) implemented
3. wxSplitter now uses events (and so the code which was broken by recent changes
   works again)

1c4a764c98 1) minor modifications in fileconf.cpp 
2) new MSW function (private.h): wxGetWindowText() which works with wxString
   instead of (horror) fixed size buffers. All calls to ::GetWindowText()
   should be replaced with this!
3) remains of casts to float in different wxControl classes removed,
   (EDIT|BUTTON)_HEIGHT_FROM_CHAR_HEIGHT macros introduced (could be
   made inline functions as well...)
