c9f7896861 first phase of transition to unified Unicode build: 
1. changed c_str() to return wxCStrData (implicitly convertible to wxChar*)
2. added template type-safe wrappers for vararg functions
3. added wxUniChar class representing single Unicode character
4. changed wxString::operator[] and wxString::iterator to return wxUniChar

249b3fe3bb rewrote wxExtHelpController loading code to use wxFileName as it was broken under Mac and it also reduces the code size; also use wxTextFile to further simplify the code

27b2dd53f6 Fixed strange situation when we had wxPathExists and wxDirExists with the same finctionality. Using wxPathExists instead wxFileExists (fixes bug #865628). Minor source cleaning.

7e00fd890f Don't build when __WXMAC__ is defined but __WXMAC_OSX__ is not (i.e. CFM). 
FIXME: We really ought to put this (as well as the existing __WXWINCE__ check)
into files.bkl but I have no idea how to do it cleanly.

wx/helphtml.h now includes wx/html/helpctrl.h.

de56032161 EMX (OS/2) compilation fix. The implemented logic for not reloading Netscape 
doesn't work and besides, Netscape is doing it automatically anyway.

f96b60aa86 wxHTMLHelpController compiles (and somewhat works) under Windows, added a 
(compile-time) option to the sample to always use HTML help, even under MSW.

afcaf277af Split part of wxExtHelpController into wxHTMLHelpControllerBase to share 
the filename lookup and URL handling mechanisms with the soon to be created
gtk-xmhtml based alternative. Added wxLocale support to allow different translated help files to be used. Tested (no changes to application required) under Solaris.
