ccec90930c Add wxVersionInfo and functions returning it for 3rd party libraries. 
Add simple wxVersionInfo class holding the version information.

Also add GetLibraryVersionInfo() static method to wx{JPEG,PNG,TIFF}Handler,
wxStyledTextCtrl and wxXmlDocument classes and wxGetZlibVersionInfo() and
wxGetLibraryVersionInfo() global functions using it.

Closes #12690.

5ed0415e3e Don't use bitmap still selected in wxMemoryDC in image sample. 
The bitmap must be deselected from wxMemoryDC before being used in any other
way but the sample didn't do this. Fix this by simply destroying the DC as
soon as we don't need it, this makes bitmap available for other use as well.

Closes #12310.

9ea83ebc7c Add test for a custom cursor to the image sample. 
Load a cursor from PNG file to check that it appears as expected.

526954c596 Globally use "wxWindows licence" consistently. 
Use "wxWindows licence" and not "wxWidgets licence" (the latter doesn't
exist) and consistently spell "licence" using British spelling.

3cb332c155 Remove unnecessary mondrian.{ico,xpm} files from samples directory. 
Standardize on using sample.rc and sample icon in all the samples, it was
confusing that some of them used it and other didn't, without any apparent
logic.

Remove the now unnecessary icon files, including the dialogs sample icon which
seemed to be corrupted (this closes #11146).

Also replace multiple OS/2 resource files with a single one in the sample
directory. The OS/2 projects/makefiles would need to be updated to use them.

Remove dialogs sample icon.

f6b4a1b98d Don't use wxWindow::ClearBackground() in the image sample and explain why. 
Painting on both wxPaintDC and wxClientDC simultaneously doesn't work well,
e.g. under Windows the client DC can be actually erased after we finished
painting the window contents, overwriting it.

Simply use wxDC::Clear() instead of wxWindow::ClearBackground() to avoid this
and document the danger of using ClearBackground() from EVT_PAINT handler.

Closes #10700.

94b6ce7f4b Use X64 machine type for MSVC linker instead of old AMD64. 
The officially supported machine type name is X64 now, even if AMD64 is still
supported.

Closes #10711.

c8688139b0 Fix compilation of image sample with wxUSE_LIBPNG==0. 
Also don't propose to save the file using the extensions not supported in this

8c9833d09e Rebaked using post-0.2.7 svn version of bakefile. 
Unfortunately 0.2.7 release contained a bug in msvc backend which resulted in
warnings generated for each file compiled. Apply the fix from bakefile svn to
fix this (and test if no other problems are found).

Also update all makefile.unx after changes of r62477.

9a83f86094 Globally replace _T() with wxT().

43b2d5e7c3 Put braces around all calls to wxLogFunctions() inside an if statement.
