a66136e9aa Return to just using the official API for setting 
TLW position and size. This works more often
    with newest version of GTK+ than with oldest
    versions.

a1b05a60e1 Make SetMinSize() and SetMaxSize() virtual so they 
can be overridden in wxTLW to set WM hints.
  Actually did that for wxGTK, nothing required for
    wxMSW, no idea about wxMac.
  Documented this in tlw.tex.

9379c0d752 Make wxWindow::SetSizeHints() do nothing. 
Make wxTLW::SetSizeHints() set the various m_minWidth etc. fields.
  Override SetSizeHints() in wxGTK to call the relevant gtk funcion
    only there and not in every resize.
  Make GetMinWidth() etc. non-virtual.

0d635035cc Add EnableCloseButton() as wxMSW does. Use it in 
wxProgressDialog so that without wxPD_CAN_ABORT
    you cannot close the dialog.

db71eb0640 Better place for coordinate mirroring and removal 
of stupid hack.
  This makes the positioning correct in the end but
    leaves window hopping when resizing unsolved
    in RTL mode.

6959763942 Implemented window coord mirroring for RTL. This 
is only implemented for *setting* the coordinates
    which is enough for wxSizers and 99% or other
    dialogs to work.
  Also reversed the meaning of wxStaticText alignment
    in RTL mode. It is possible that later versions
    of GTK actually do that themselves. (?)

60169b7a51 [wxGTK] Be pessimistic about transparency being visually shown in CanSetTransparent. With current code 
CanSetTransparent will only return TRUE if gtk+ version is at least 2.10 AND there is a running compositing
manager that implements the _NET_WM_CM_Sn EWMH spec addition proposal (at this point only metacity GL based
compositor, afaik). This is for wxAUI to be able to implement dock preview correctly. In general these behaviours
needs some discussion.

07e497070e Initial wxTLW::(Can)SetTransparent support for wxGTK. The return value of SetTransparent is currently very 
optimistic and doesn't use the EWMH composite manager spec update proposal (_NET_WM_CM_Sn) yet. This is on purpose
until the proposal appears in EWMH new version draft and it gets used by more composite managers.

Some code reordering is probably in order (helper function to utilsx11?) and testing on non-traditional X servers
appreciated.

5503a51cac Do not set the wmclass for toplevels. This MUST be unique across the application, and GTK takes care of it for us 
- don't screw it over.
Change it to set_role instead, but #if 0 out for now until some discussion about potential affect of this to
existing applications.
Toplevels that have a role set can be handled by the window manager, and store the positiong and size for them,
and restore it on later occasion. If apps do stupid things like don't have unique motif names set for different
toplevels, then this can cause problems with backwards compatibility. I am in favor of doing set_role, but it
needs a little discussion and testing.
Setting WM_CLASS is definately wrong, so just get rid of that till then.

behaviour for custom controls (non native
